I wish I had a photo of the finished product- but the burgers looked so amazing that I couldn't spare one moment to grab a camera...I HAD to eat ma dinner ASAP! This is such an easy recipe and the prep time is relatively short.
I served the burger in a pita with sprouts, avocado, and hummus, and a dash of hot sauce. Hot sauce...that's the ticket!
What you'll need:
-10 oz. chopped frozen spinach
-1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
-1 tsp red pepper flakes (if your so inclined...)
-salt to taste (a little less than 1/4 tsp)
-dash of pepper
-2 egg whites
-1 egg
-1 oz parmesan cheese (shredded)
-1.5 oz reduced fat mozzarella cheese (shredded)
-1 oz provolone cheese (shredded)
1. Thaw the frozen spinach in a simmering pot of water until completely thawed. Drain and press out all remaining water.
2. Combine all the ingredients thoroughly and make 5 patties.
3. Cook on the skillet about 4 min on one side, 4 min on the other side, 3 min on one side, 3 min on the other side.
C'est fini!! You're finished! Enjoy on a pita or an open faced sandy :)
*you don't have to use all the different kinds of cheese if you don't want to. I just like to add different flavors. You could choose one cheese and use 3 oz of it!
