In the last month, Easton has begun to hit all the little milestones that baby books tell us about- which makes me proud and it also gives me peace of mind. The fear of having an unhealthy baby in any way never leaves a new mom. A thriving baby boy is all I can ask for- and I'm happy to say that Tony and I have something to do with his success. We are great parents to our little guy, if I do say so myself.
Now, dont get me wrong. There are days that go by where I'm certain that I'm doing EVERYTHING wrong. My friend Sarah, (who also has a newborn) told me that every new mom believes she is messing up the parenting thing at some point. So, the best I can do is make decisions that I believe are in the best interest of my little guy, and hope (and pray) for the best!
I have recently started journaling daily, so that I can remember the little things that Easton does- also because I want to remember how I felt during this stage in my life. I got the idea from Johnny Depp, who said that journaling everyday keeps the mind sharp. No big deal.
Here are a few tid-bits from my daily journal:
Easton has begun reaching and grabbing.
He giggles in the morning and it is so cute!
He has begun sleeping a four to five hour stretch from 10-2:30 or 3am. Then goes back down until about 5 or 6 am, (thank goodness).
He goes down for a nap around 2:30 and sleeps for about 3 hours...it gives me a much needed break.
His dimple makes me at least 15% more happy than if he didn't have one.
He has started to poop less. I'm very grateful for this, as I launder his dipes myself :)
He is getting very close to growing out of his baby gap, red, hand-me-down jams- and it literally brings tears to my eyes.
He feels thicker. Its almost like he's becoming more human and less doll-like.
Sometimes, we can just see that he is discovering something new...it's like witnessing a miracle.
He has started to kick his little legs while he's nursing.
His thighs are becoming so chunky. I love it!
He "gags" on a pacifier and a bottle. What's the male word for a diva??
When he wakes up from a nap his eyes roll all around, he brings in his chin to make..like 4 double chins, then he sees us and smiles. Big smiles.
He farts while he feeds sometimes...and while we change his diaper...and while he lays- tummy down, on our laps.
There is so much more. But these are my favourites! I love my guy.
