Food: Home-Made BREAD!
I got this recipe from my sister!! Its great- and I copied the directions right off of her blog....Its not plagiarism when you are citing the source!! Her bread was so great that I had to make it for myself, and the picture of the bread is MINE!! And it was amazing! thanks for the recipe Heather!!
"White loaf: 3 cups white flour, 1/4 tsp dry yeast, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix, then stir in about 1 3/4 cups of luke warm water. I add the last 1/4 of water incrementally because it seems that random conditions impact how much water is actually needed for any given loaf.
Wheat loaf: 2 1/2 cups white flour, 1 1/2 cup wheat flour, 1/4 tsp dry yeast, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 cup wheat germ, 1/4 cup millet, 1/4 cup sunflower seeds, 1/4 cup flax seeds. Mix, then stir in about 2 1/4 cups of luke warm water.
After the dough is mixed it sits with plastic wrap covering the bowl for 12-18 hours. At the end of the first rise, flour a cutting board and pat down the dough and fold it a few times. Then flour and cover the dough with a towel for another 1 1/2-2 hours. Half an hour or so before the dough is ready to bake, preheat the oven to 450F and put the baking dish and lid in the oven. When the second rise is over, dump the dough in the dish, cover, and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes remove the lid and turn the heat down to 420-430F. I usually leave it in for another 15-20 minutes, but gauge the time based on the color of the bread."
